That said, I figured I needed a reference point for when I start these posts so that I don’t have to spend several paragraphs each time explaining myself:

1.) Astrology is a very ancient, and very complex study. There are a lot of pieces to the puzzle: the planets have meaning, the signs have meaning, the houses have meaning, the aspects have meaning. Meaning, meaning, everywhere!

2.) I’m not here to teach you astrology. I’m just here to chat about what I see. I hope these posts make you curious about astrology, but they will by no means teach you anything. If you want to learn, I recommend the book The Only Astrology Book You’ll Ever Need by Joanne Martine Woolfolk. It is not, in fact, the only book you’ll ever need, but it’s a great starting point for beginners!

3.) For those more in the know about astrology, I’ll explain how I’m pulling these charts: I use what information I have. If I only have the birthdate, then I’ll plug in a random place that seems right for them. The time I play around with to give everyone a rising sign that feels best for them. If we do know more or less where they were born, it’s usually a fictional area, so I research whereabouts in the U.K. it would be and use that as my reference point. I basically use what information I do have, then work with what I know about the characters to fill in the rest.

I like to use astrology as a tool for understanding. It is not meant to be an excuse for behavior, but a means of understanding it. I use astrology to help better understand myself and others. And I use it when writing to feel more connected to the characters.

There are a lot of opinions about astrology out there, which I know and accept. But I do ask that you please be kind and courteous and even open-minded. This is something I genuinely love and enjoy and want to share with people. It’s meant to be fun for me and, hopefully, for other people, too! Don’t take it too seriously, please!
