The point is, I really love flaws.
Not a brief nod to imperfection, but reveling in it.
Our world is flawed and so are we. Life will never be easy. That photo on the wall might always be crooked and that page in your book might be creased forever. Paint chips. Glass breaks. We impact the world around us, and it impacts us in turn.
We are unique. We are interesting. And it’s not flawless skin or straight teeth that make us that way. It isn’t saying the right words in every occasion.
Life is hard. So maybe you want to read stories where life is easier. Maybe you want fluff. You want softness and sweetness. Where everyone is good and pure and always does the right thing. Maybe it soothes something in your soul.
There is no shame in taking time for yourself, to rest and breathe and escape. I hope you always have stories that bring you comfort.
But nothing stirs my soul like seeing every flaw put on display, cast in harsh light. To find glory in failure, beauty in ugliness, peace in volatility. It inspires me creatively.
But most importantly, in my heart, it eases me. A glad reminder that nothing in this world is perfect. For all of the ways in which I am too much, in all of the ways I fall short, in all of the ways I could be better, I am not alone.
There might be more to this series one day. Expansions on current editions or new subjects to heap my love upon, but for now…this is what we have.
